The League of Twelve

The Empire of Inlao has been ruled by the Lord Eternal for over three centuries. His absolute power had never been questioned until a young man with a gift for persuasion ignited a revolt. The League of Twelve, as it came to be called, combined the talents of some of Inlao's most impressive individuals behind a single purpose; to kill the Lord Eternal. The movement met with initial success but foundered after the bloody Four Days Battle. The war had only lasted a few years, but Serro is no longer a young man. His army is in tatters, and few members of his League remain. Serro attempts a daring strike at the Lord Eternal in the midst of his throne room. The attack fails. Death seems imminent. Only hope remains.
