Tells the story of Milarepa – a singer of spiritual poems who roamed the northern slopes of the Himalayas 900 years ago. Considered by many to have been a living Buddha, he is still revered in Tibet. His guru was 'Marpa The Translator' who compelled him to build stone buildings which Marpa then ordered him to dissemble. Milarepa was arguably the world’s champion faster and renunciate (ascetic). Several times, he walled himself in to high elevation mountain caves, with scant food or clothing, and survived for many months. Besides insight in to Tibetan mahayana teachings of that epoch, this story also offers glimpses of people and culture within that Himalaya region of 900 years ago.
