The Innocents Within

1944. A Protestant village in Catholic France. A pastor who preaches goodness. Hundreds of Jews hidden from the Nazis. A cop who refuses to enforce terrible laws. An SS commander ordered to fill a train with Jews. An 18 year old girl, a Jewish refugee from Berlin, who was taken in by the pastor at the beginning of the war, who has lived in the presbytery ever since, and who, by now, is as loved by the pastor and his wife as their own children. A French youth, also Jewish, 19 years old but an expert forger who provides documents for the village. Into the midst of these people crashes an American pilot scarcely older. Badly wounded, he must be hidden while he recovers. But he falls in love with the girl, and as the SS raid takes shape, both must somehow be got out of the country.
