As the game of soccer gets ever quicker, the demands on players to be alert technically, tactically, physically & mentally is of the utmost importance.
Although many coaches will all have their own views as to how to be successful, the majority will concur that regaining possession as quickly as possible,followed by quick attacking play while defenses are dis-organized, is undoubtedly an effective tactical strategy.
Offensive and defensive transition is something that impacts on all players on the team - and that includes the goalkeeper - whose quick distribution may lead to that all important goal.
These 5 training sessions cover the topic of offensive and defensive transition and are suitable for players 13 and older. The sessions progress in complexity.
Although the sessions follow on from each other we are not suggesting that they should be performed one after the other. It may require one of the sessions to be repeated a number of times until the players are comfortable with the material before the coach moves on.
