As we all do, I was struggling with a really important issue... my last resort was to ask GOD for a sign. Well... I got one. Just an hour later I was struck by lightning. I was knocked flat off of my feet on that golf course. Just five inches away from my head a golf club was destroyed. That was the beginning of a series of odd events that, although I found difficult to wrap my “head” around, I realized I had the gift of “knowing”. Strange... did I want this??? Would people lock me up in the loony bin? Should I keep it a secret or should I toy with the idea that my “knowing” was actually my prayer answered.
Funny really... we pray and then expect “something”. Looking back today and after having worked with so many people, I get that our prayers are always answered... most often not in the form we had imagined.
I had to open my mind and receive my gift. The gift of “knowing” that people were in pain...and then to take on the responsibility to use that gift for good and in the service of His people.
This is my story. How my prayer was answered in the form of being struck by lightning and how that moment on August 4th, 1988 turned my life upside-down, sideways and in circles before I finally “got it”....
