My Vision in the Mirror: One Man's Struggle With Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD)

Mark, trying to find his life's path in his 20's, provides a unique perspective on a man's struggle with his appearance. His struggle begins in childhood and progresses throughout his life. Constant thoughts about individual characteristics of his appearance prevent Mark from enjoying everyday life.

Inner dialogue during many battles with the mirror show how helpless Mark feels. Despite being co-captain of the high school football team and a member of a popular fraternity at The University of Miami, his perception of his appearance plagues most of his high school and college experiences. Mark enters counseling in college and tries to determine if his obsessive thoughts will define a lifelong struggle.
