Dead Isles

Holidays are filled with danger as Christmas vacation of Casey Cook’s sophomore year brings new deadly environmental adventures along the Gulf coast where chemical wastelands and dark mystery are part of the fabric of everyday life. The solitude of a devastated barrier island in Louisiana presents new challenges for the detectives who must save the isle to protect a delicate marsh. Caught in a strange mystery of death and destruction, voodoo and pollution, Casey and her best friend Lisa, must also search out the mysterious source of toxic waste oil and deadly algae that threatens a scenic river. As the mystery becomes more perilous, they must use all of their skills to escape ruthless bounty hunters and contamination dangers if they are to save the river and an irreplaceable estuary.
