When two teenaged boys, bored near tedium on a hot summer day, decide to cross forbidden boundaries to explore an abandoned theatre, the sleepy town of Wakefield soon wakens from its slumber by what they discover. Searching the dank old opera house, Tom and Gary meet with troubles, mysteries, narrow escapes, and comical situations while trying to solve a long ago murder, and to prevent another from happening.
