When Randy and his girl friend, Sunshine Sally, go to San Francisco seeking love and peace, they discover a gritty reality of odd characters, drugs, wild parties and petty crime, Randy gets into real trouble when a murderous ex-con, Captain Courageous, uses him in a car theft scheme. When the cops bust the Captain, he believes Randy snitched him out and decides he has to ‘snuff’ Randy to silence him as a witness.
Randy’s relationship with Sally hits the rocks and he succumbs to a one-night stand with ‘Mad’ Monique Minet who has a loveless marriage. Monique becomes obsessed with Randy and wants him. Police on his tail, the Captain does a ‘disappearing act.’ Just before departing by boat to Australia, an accident reveals Randy’s destination, and both Monique and Captain Courageous follow.
After a close call with the Captain in Sydney, Randy enters a rocky relationship with Monique and flees to Indonesia. Problems multiply, which include getting stabbed and being put in the slammer. Meanwhile, Captain buys a gun and hires a private detective who locates Randy.
Randy and Monique fly back to the U.S. not knowing Captain is on the same plane with plans to snuff Randy at the San Francisco airport. Sparks fly in the final meeting between Captain and Randy.
