The Assurance of God’s Love

This work entitled “The Assurance of God’s Love” was one of Byfield’s most popular works, and warmly received. It springboards from 2 Corinthians 13:5, “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” It is a treatise on assurance. Byfield covers sixteen infallible signs of a child of God as they appear by the testimony Scripture. Among these signs are poverty of spirit, godly sorrow, the love of God’s word, the love of God’s children, faith, uprightness of heart, holy desires and many others. Byfield explains and applies these signs demonstrating how a Christian may be assured that God loves him. This is an invaluable treatise to aid the Christian to grow in the love of Jesus Christ.
