This ebooklet is a crochet pattern (U.S. abbreviations) for the little baby hat and shamrock decoration you see in the photo. Fast and simple, the cap is worked primarily in single crochet and has instructions for four sizes: preemie, newborn, 3 months and 6 months. (The sizing may vary depending on your yarn and the tightness of your stitches). The final piece has the look of a softly woven basket because of the stitch, and its simple turned-up brim almost looks like a little derby hat or leprechaun hat. The pattern comes with instructions for the shamrock garland in a small and large size also, perfect for your little one!
The hat is quick to crochet and uses sc, dc, slip stitch and chain stitch. There are a key to abbreviations, lots and lots of color photos, and special notes about working this project.
You'll need 2 or 3 sport/baby/ light weight yarn colors and a size H (5.0 mm) hook. For the shamrocks you'll move down to an F or G hook. (3.75 or 4.25mm) None of the hats will use even a skein of yarn, only half to three quarters of your typical skein sizes.
Feel free to make and sell items made from this pattern!
