The Homecoming and The Forgotten Soldier

Both of these short reflections were inspired by my life experience of growing up as an army brat. Traveling from state to state and living on various army bases as my father serviced in the Unite States Army as a Master Drill Sergeant for over twenty-five years. “The Homecoming” expresses the fears and transitions an individual experiences when a loved one leaves for a tour of duty, and the anticipation of their return. “The Forgotten Soldier” expresses the actual return of a wounded soldier who sits on the side lines as his deed of patriotism is forgotten.
Each story is a salute to all the men and women who gave their lives for a better cause; Men, women and individuals like my father who sacrificed, protected, and demonstrated great courage in the line of duty... Selfless individuals who displayed the greatest act of love—to surrender their lives for their fellow person... Servicemen, brave people of valor, who wholeheartedly serviced their country with lions' hearts, not wavering in unity, but dedicated their lives to uphold peace. Acts of Duties of strong deserving individuals who are due to be remembered, respected, and honored with the highest Regards.
