The Last of the Mohicans is (chronologically) the second in the Leatherstocking Tales Series and the most famous. It takes place during the French and Indian wars of the Eighteenth Century. The British and the French were fighting for control of North America. This book is about the scout Hawkeye (Natty Bumppo) and his companion Chingachgook as they strive to save the Munro sisters from Magua, a Huron renegade.
