I believe part of the reason why so many marriages in today’s society end in divorce is because of the simple fact that no one ever painted a picture for them of what “happily ever after” looks like in reality. Individuals go into a marriage expecting “happily ever after” to look like their childhood fantasy. When they wake up and realize that that’s not the case, they figure, “Then, this must not be my Prince Charming” . . . never stopping to take into consideration that maybe their expectations are based on fantasy rather than reality.
