A Collection of Inspiring Reflections After the Death of a Spouse My late husband and I used to pick up loose change we had found on our daily walks. It became a game for us as we tallied up the amount we collected and threw the coins in a small jar. Once, at the end of the year, we had collected over twenty-five dollars. After he died, I picked up change constantly to continue the game, but mostly out of the old notion that somehow he was more with me, close by again. I felt comforted by that old belief, but I was never able to collect anywhere near what we had collected together.
