Emily Morris sighed as she slammed her textbook shut in the library. She looked around, certain that they were the only two left in the library that afternoon. She just couldn't believe it, the last day of school before spring break and Jake Brannem felt the need to work on their English project? What a jackass, she thought to herself.
"Don't you have some packing or something that you should be doing right about now?" she asked him as they walked out of the library together.
He looked at her questioningly. "Packing? Why would I have packing to do?"
"It's spring break." She responded back dryly. "Don't your people usually go to Cancun or something?"
"My people?" Jake asked.
