Yankee Candle Company: A Brief about The Company History

The Yankee Candle Company was when Michael Kittredge made a scented candle from melted crayons in 1969 and gave it to his mother as a Christmas gift. His neighbors had interest in buying his candles so Michael began making them in bigger quantities. His company was started with help from his two high school friends and partially funded by one of them. Over the next few years the company expanded with the help of a “heated room” and a turntable taper wheel invented by his friend’s father.
