Young Cynthia turns her natural weaponry--brains and body--into a powerful love potion,gold-digging and using men's resources to rescue her sisters from poverty's incessant grip.
"GUTS" documents the psychology and mindset of a real-life, sexually charged goddess named Cynthia reared in rural Oklahoma. Out of necessity to support her three younger sisters, she journeys into the realm of escorting. She moves to Dallas, Texas to reinvent her identity and emancipate Lizzy, Brooke and Trisha from foster care and their uncertain futures with the "proceeds" she earns.
By age twenty, she's transformed herself into an elite courtesan, but fails to cope with her increasing paranoias, tempestuous relationships and narcissistic episodes. Mastering her late mama's "play-book" with comic cruelty and callous precision, her alter-ego (Cynbad) becomes more dominant over time.
In the midst of a faux love affair which backfires on her, she's visited by the effigy of an innocent young girl who outwits her. Conflicted between personal emotions and her late mother Leah's instructions, she teeters on the brink of self-destruction.
In a final courageous act, she confronts the manipulative monster she's become, and sets in motion a chain of fateful events attempting to seal her families' freedom and perpetuate her legacy forever.
