The tractor-trailer barreled down the interstate heading for the rest stop a few miles ahead. Most of the time there were very few people out this late at night, but for some reason the highway was crowded. It could be due to the holiday weekend coming up, Ryan mused.
A long tiring week was behind him and his thoughts turned to the pleasure he was soon going to find a little distance up the highway. The thought kept buzzing through his head lifting the tiredness he felt earlier.
He had picked up a full load in the last city he’d stopped and didn’t have to make delivery on it until the following afternoon. This gave him plenty of time to reach the rest stop where he planned to meet his wife for a fun filled night.
Before leaving the last truck stop that day, he had the good sense to take a shower and now felt wide-awake and fresh. The reason behind the shower was the thought that he was definitely going to get lucky tonight. After driving so many miles, he knew he would be sweat soaked and not very appetizing to anyone wanting to get near him.
