Lisset Greene, now a successful artist and children's book author, thrown away by her mother onto the streets while young, one time nude dancer in Las Vegas, and who does not like cops, learns from an unftiendly detective Lt. Jake Tucker that she is heir to the property of a man she despises, but claims not to know, who is a pimp of young boys. With Tucker she sets out to learn why and along the way finds herself and her daughter in danger, facing the inhabitants of dark places in the real world and caverns of the psyche and finally comes face to face with her mother and the grandmother who had ordered her to be thrown away.
