Edwin shifted his position and placed his hand over Bretta’s. He could feel the tension in her body. “What’s wrong?”
“I’m scared.”
“Of what?”
“Going back.”
“Why?” He couldn’t understand how returning home to the family that she so desperately missed could be scary.
“We just spent four months living as adventurers and then as heroes. How can we go back to normal?” He understood that.
