From as old as the 11th century, some of the 30 prayers here are historical Catholic prayers to Jesus, Christ the King and to Mary, the Queen of Heaven, along with those to saints who were holy kings and queens.

Many prayers and litanies date back to the earliest days of the Church and were translated from various languages including French and German.

Prayer for the King or Queen

O Lord, save the (king/queen).
And hear us on the day that we shall call on you.

O God, by whom kings and queens reign, and the princes of the earth exercise their power; O God, who are the strength and support of those kingdoms that serve you; mercifully hear our prayers, and defend your servant ___ our (king/queen) from all dangers: and grant (him/her) safety along with peace and welfare for your people. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
