After his incarceration and torture at the hands of a bloodthirsty Sakai female, Logan de Santiago wants nothing more than to find a warm, lazy, peaceful place in the sun where his troubles can melt away. All of his life Logan has been a wanderer – but that has changed. Now, Logan just wants a home.

But Logan has three problems. First off, he is flat broke. Secondly, Rohe – the Sakai female who tortured him – wants him back. Or dead. Preferably dead.

Devika.

When Devika first saw Logan in his cell, she knew he was her amati, her life-bonded mate. She loved him, aided him and protected him as best she could from that moment on…which was incredibly difficult. For most Sakai, the bond is a straightforward thing: a bite and bloodsharing, sex and the Marque. Not necessarily in that order.

It is not so simple for Devika. For her, the problem is two-fold: to begin with, Logan hates Sakai.

Also, Devika is crazy.
