The Silent Suitor

Lord Maurice Stewart-Howe, the Earl of Uxbridge, has never been loquacious but he can hold his own in any social situation. That is, until he and his son, Lionel, are in a carriage accident one snowy evening right at the gates of Ponsonby Hall. Once he meets the Squire Ponsonby's eldest daughter, Perpetua, the Earl turns into nothing so much as a tongue-tied sapskull.
