I tutor older students who arrive at my tutorial studio reading at a first or second grade level. They want to read chapter books. A search for chapter books at their reading level yields reading material far below their interest level. This book is the first of a series I am writing for older students who are reading in the first and second grade range.
This illustrated science fiction story is the tale of a boy named "Kidd Candy" who makes a wish resulting in a surprise that changes his life forever.
Other easy chapter books for older kids that I have written are:
"Once Upon a Mixed-Up Time ~~ The Time Sledders"
"Lost"
"Money Tree Summer"
"The Summer of Nod"
"Pippin and the Pirates"
"Where's Joe? ~~ The Boy Who Disappeared:
"Green Games"
"Red Rocker Runs"
"The Fizz Machine"
"The Trouble With Teddy Bears"
"Jesse Fox and the Dragon Desk"
I hope that you find books among these titles that are suited to your student. They are all science fiction tales with a mix of fantasy.
