The Cynningwydd: The King of the Wood

All of the Greek gods except Artemis have long since left the Earth. Artemis has changed her identity with the times, first becoming Diana during the Roman Era, and now Viviane, the Lady of the Lake, in medieval Britain. Unfortunately, her powerful presence is affecting human destiny. As a nature goddess, she does not want mankind to advance any further than he already has and so she is her using her virtually unlimited powers to hold back civilization. The resulting “Dark Ages” will never end if Viviane’s power remains unchecked.


In this setting a young man, the returned Arthur, awakens in a small cave with no idea of who he is or how he came to be there; but a meeting with an old magician sets him on a course that will alter human destiny. But first he must become the King of the Wood, an adventure in itself, and even then, how can a mortal man challenge the power of an angry goddess?
