Same-Sex Marriage and the Ends of Desire

The family roles of husband/father and wife/mother offer stable and honored places for men and women across generations—something that same-sex marriages cannot provide. Legalizing same-sex marriages will ultimately harm women and undercut their status in the family and in the larger society.
