Trubb Blinger is a man hungry to step outside of the box…and himself. He’s hungry to break away from the blandness of his life and, he fears, the blandness of his own personality. So Trubb decides to take a journey—a trip across the United States, starting at the tip of Cape Cod on U.S. Route 6—and record his adventures in a book. But the most interesting parts of his adventure aren’t in the stories he chooses to chronicle. It’s in the stories he doesn’t choose—the stories replete with love, danger, reality, and sometimes luck.

The people Trubb meet along his journey affect him profoundly, causing him to grow, to learn about life in the real world. The world is harsh and cruel sometimes, and the truth is, not much can be done about it. But Trubb and his new wife, Katrina, find one thing they can do, small and insignificant as it might seem. A young boy helps ignite a passion in the couple—a boy at home on the streets, but with a dream to escape them. Trubb and Katrina realize that there are many of these youngsters out there—many of them exploited—and society is not really geared to help them rise above the bad choices they’ve made until it is too late. With little or no experience, can Trubb and Katrina make a difference? If not, it won’t be for lack of trying.
