Ice Shelves

This is a collection of eleven tales ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous, the charming to the frightening. The title refers to the large layers of ice that form along Lake Michigan in the winter. They look strong and sturdy but are quite fragile in places. This is a metaphor for the bits and pieces, the layers of lives, which are captured, frozen in time within a story -- and within the readers’ imaginations. Tread carefully, for you are about to enter a new and magical world where things aren’t always as they appear. Imagine a smooth, white, frozen landscape... Inside are many voices.
