Market of Dreams

Market of Dreams is the first multilingual poetry collection by a Nigerian author. The book contains nine sections--Identity, Love, Passion, Sacrifice, Bondage, Salvation, Purpose, Hope and Freedom. Each of these sections contain poems that speak to the choices we make in the "Market of Dreams"--life. This collection tells the story of a child migrating to the West from Africa, coming of age, finding and loving her identity, falling in love, suffering heartbreaks that transcend romance into revolutionary politics, finding God, purpose, hope and accepting freedom. The collection includes a Yoruba translation of the Black National Anthem, Lift Every Voice; and poetry in Spanish, French and Jamaican Patois.
