Danielle isn't a bad person. She's just a victim of circumstance. Her past is the reason why her present actions are justified. The love/hate, pain, drugs, abuse, distrust, and confusion can drive anyone insane. In this degree, her mom leaves her on the West Side of Chicago to fend for herself. Meaning, she has to survive by any means necessary even if that means selling drugs for the most notorious gang on the west side. "If I don't sell it to them, somebody else will."
