Excerpt

From the first note Isabel knew she was listening to something special. There was power in it and something that made it feel rich. A theme threaded through it, underneath the other notes, something changing a wild. It vibrated in the core of her being and left her breathless. It was beautiful.

Looking at Tim revised her opinion. He was beautiful. Everything about him, the way he breathed, the way his hands touched the keys. His neck, and body moving with the music. The music was good, but it was the idea of him playing it just for her, creating it for her. It made her feel more special than anything she had ever known. He loved music and he was using what he loved to create something for her.

Izzy wanted to be the piano. Wanted to feel his hands gliding over her skin the way they did over the keys. Wanted him to use her to create his magic. Sometimes he treated the keys so gently, and sometimes he treated them very rough. She wished her skin were his keys and her screams his music.

It was torture. Izzy wanted to reach out and touch him. Take him in her arms and turn his solo into a duet. But she couldn’t. If she did, if she touched him it would break his spell, the magic flowing from his fingers would stop. Caught between two fires Isabel Grayson burned. The music played and her body lusted and she swayed between the two, always on edge of falling in.
