The Not Quite Dead Chronicles

Monday morning came. As horrible and stifling as ever, but it was about to get worse, much worse. Zero woke with a start in his room at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque just as his partner in fate Tiffany fell into bed at the University of Northern Arizona. Neither of them knew what the world had planned for them. It was just another awful morning after all.

"By noon the virus had claimed both New York and Washington D.C. By one o’clock it had the entire east coast. Just before two it had spread to most of the world’s largest population centers, with reports coming in that Japan, Britain, Australia, and China were closing their borders to deal with their own outbreaks of the virus. This thing is spreading like wildfire. Zero thought. Within a few hours of the New York quarantine there were reports worldwide of cities being locked down to contain the infection. The virus had somehow jumped to the West coast as well, and was now marching its way towards them from both sides."
