Hanging Benny - A Novella

Benny Huffer stabbed his childhood bully with a steak knife at the Hungry Heifer restaurant. The bully’s father, a Senator wants vengeance, but there’s one very big problem – Benny is too fat to hang without risking decapitation. The Senator doesn’t care whose head will roll, he just wants Benny executed. Hanging Benny tells the story of the antics that follow to get Benny to lose weight so that he can die. The story deals with some heavy subjects such as capital punishment and obesity, but uses thinly disguised humor to lighten the load. It’s a compelling story based on the facts that surround capital punishment and while it might lead to debates about whether we should put people to death it will definitely not leave the reader hanging.
