Such A Good Baby

Cheri ran away from home in search of something bigger and better. She arrived in New York with nothing but a suitcase and dreams of making something of herself. Then she met Ramon. He made something of her, alright. Within two weeks of arriving in the Big Apple, Cheri was turning tricks and giving all her money to him. But when she became pregnant, she ran away once again--this time to the depths of Alphabet City--for fear of that Ramon would do once he found out. It was there, alone in a tenement apartment on Avenue D, that Cheri gave birth. Her daughter, Jennifer, is the only thing that gives her hope in that meat-grinder of a city, although Cheri lives in constant fear of Child Protection Services taking her baby away from her. But then Cheri makes the mistake of taking the wrong trick back to her room, and suddenly Cheri finds herself doing what any mother would to keep her child safe--with unexpected results.
