Poachers in the Colorado Wilderness patrolled by State Game Warden, Randy Waters, are killing animals for certain body parts and leaving the rest to rot. Randy tracks the poachers to a game management area and finds them trying to kill a mountain lion. A firefight ensues and the poachers escape over the ridge. Randy wounds one of them and takes him into custody, but a winter storm interrupts the search for the other man.
A few weeks later, in the dead of winter, Randy learns of a suspicious use of electricity in a vacation home and several officers converge on the mountaintop hideaway. Another gun battle erupts until Randy realizes that the suspect escaped again. He chases him down the snowy mountain and finds him being attacked by a forest creature. The poacher comes to a just end in the wilderness.
