El Monarca

El Monarca is a fantastical story which shows, through magical realism, that one must be a child before truly becoming an adult. The story questions how one, once young, may find themselves in the adult world. How are we to spin our childhood pursuits so that, when the dust settles, the integral parts of childhood fall together in a way that eventually forms a completed self? This, wrapped in an imaginative tale, is the story of El Monarca. It is one girl’s journey as she experiences the kingdom of America. It is a telling of her desire to understand the dogma and ideologies that loosely hold all of us together.
