Downriver: Farming, Fracking and Finding my way Home

Set in the author's home state of Ohio, Downriver examines the effects of consumerism upon modern society. From the destruction of the environment to the unpredictability of life, Downriver concludes that what we need most—community, relationships, love, nature—cannot be purchased at any cost. Combining five essays with a short story about hydraulic fracturing (fracking), Downriver suggests that only by recommitting to the land can we hope to recover what we have lost.
