What would you do if your life was suddenly cut short without warning? Then a stranger reveals your destiny has been changed; the Boss has given you a second chance.
This is how Deacon Conner woke sitting on a plane in a black sky with no memory. He didn’t know where he was going or where he’d been. Everyone around him seemed to be sleeping except the little grey-haired lady sitting next to him. He realized with a chill, she knew more about him than he knew about himself. When she told him her name was Sister Margaret Mary it had no significance until his life began to be a series of chain events.
Finding himself suddenly in Louisiana all he remembered of his past life was the information on his driver’s license. He hadn’t the time to ponder his circumstances though. Within hours of reaching his sad little trailer, a hurricane hits and Deacon risks his life to rescues a young woman he pulls from the raging river. Together the two strangers struggle with the storm and the aftermath as the river begins to rise. He calls her his angel because her face reminds him of the angels on Christmas cards. It is later that she reveals her past.
Sister Margaret Mary makes several appearances in Deacon’s life as the couple move north to Black Mountain, NC. She shows up after the murder of his good friend and again in a dream warning that death is near. He is convinced she is connected to death. Then she visits him for the third and last time.
