Gavin the Chef's Yummy Beef Stew

Gavin the Chef's Yummy Beef Stew is the first of nine Junior Cookbooks designed to provide young readers with steps of food preparation through actual photographs of Gavin cooking. Each photograph is followed by a narrative describing what he is doing. These are not recipes; they are designed to inform, educate and entertain young people enjoying food preparation or thinking about becoming a chef. Gavin is 7 years old and the descriptions are commensurate with this age group, and up. Emphasis is placed on adult supervision to ensure safety in all respects, including quality of food. Ingredients used are "off-the-shelf" and brand names are seen, but no credits are provided. Adults are shown participating, and a family environment is clearly evident.
