When the revolutionary war comes to the south, Cassie finds her home occupied by American forces from the north determined to eradicate the southern patriots fighting for independence. Cassie is a patriot and cannot abide her home being invaded, but nevertheless soon finds herself coming to accept and even enjoy the company of one of the northern officers.
