The citizens of Rudeville are too busy taking care of their own needs, while ignoring the needs of others. For them, Christmas is a time of getting, not giving. One little girl has grown sad, seeing the kindness they throw away. Hattie gets the big guy involved--Santa--and tries to show the Rudies what they have discarded is the greatest gift they could ever receive.
