Unworshipped, most of the old gods have died off, or live an attenuated existence. Messenger godling Iris has managed to upgrade herself to Communications Goddess, patron of computer users. Her position is being sabotaged by the upstart new god Hacker. Iris enlists the help of Cat Goddess, Pakht, to combat Hacker's formal challenge, which could end their lives, and jeopardize human civilization.
