The Battle of Ashers Farm

two young girls, in their unreliable time machine, rescue eight asteroid miners from certain death during the alien invasion of earth. they crash land in the year 4300, or thereabouts, and decide to take part in the war between the free thinking easterners and the tyrant western alliance. the girls know what is going to happen, as it is written in their prayer book. but is the book right?
