A conspiracy of circumstances lands rising newspaper reporter Grayson McLeod in the tiny Ozarks hamlet of Indian Lakes Village as editor of the weekly White Horse Mountain Chronicle. He is given one year to rescue the newspaper, which is in danger of closing. But Grayson puts his own life in more immediate danger as he exposes corruption in the county political machine.
