Kat retreats to the quiet seaside town of Crescent Beach to escape a bad relationship with a nasty cop. A distant cousin offers Kat and her son shelter in her Victorian house and the comfort of a family of strong supportive women. The man who attracts her turns out to be another cop, but together they must fight the Dark Man, an evil force bent on destroying her new found family of witches.
