The Last Day of Summer

It was the last day of summer. The barn yard animal friends woke up early, way before sunrise, to plan their special last day together.

“My eyes are all crusty,” said Tornado (the lamb.)

“I cannot hold my head up,” said Donkey-Lonkey.

“Even my teeth hurt,” said Big Foot (the rabbit.)

“I’ll go avec le Canard,” said Poitou (the French goat.) He lay back down in the grass and closed his eyes.
