A gorgeous Georgian desk in dark cherry sat in the middle of wall across from the bed. There at the top of the knee-space, just visible beyond the chair, was a faint glimmer. Kneeling down, I had to squint to realize that it was the gleam of sunlight. A wide-slatted vent had been set in the wall, but where it presumably should have opened to a barrier of some sort, the duct was open to reveal another identical vent opposite -- opening up to the suite beyond our own. A dim shaft of light had made it through from the other side, the room beyond bright where the blinds had been pulled back from the windows.

As I tried to appraise the weight of the desk, wondering if I could move it on my own to cover the opening, the light beyond was eclipsed. In the vague distance, I could see the blinds pulled. In shadow, people were moving, and even as I started to pull away, self-conscious suddenly at my unintended observation, I made out the familiar shape of a couple embracing in the center of the room.

No faces seen. No details in the shadows. Their hands moved across each other, towels wrapping them like they'd just come from the shower together. And as I watched, her towel slipped away and the smooth expanse of her back and her ass turned past me as he slowly lowered himself to the floor.

He spread her standing legs where they framed him. And then I felt a shock of recognition at seeing a face from the dining room the night before...
