Ten Days in Hospital

Back in 2009 I was ill in hospital, when I nearly died. Whether brain chemicals going crazy on a cocktail of antibiotics in a fever spike, or a religious experience, I recount how I ended up in hospital and how I went down the white tunnel of light to the gates of heaven and back. A profound religious experience? A hallucination under the influence of the fever and hospital drugs? Who knows? But through having to face some not insignificant fears in hospital I was able to use the experience to walk positively forwards in life. This is an inspiring true short story about how the British publicly funded heath care system can work brilliantly and how good things can come out of bad things.
