in 1887 lizzie sykes fulfilled her dream of trekking in kashmir.she not only recorded the remarkable and dangerous journey but she also drew sketches of some of the places visited.she describes vividly the scenery, flowers and trees encountered on the 500 mile trek on foot and on horseback with a wry sense of humour showing fortitude and initiative.this diary is enhanced by the original sketches.
